Artist's Description

A black bear emerges from the forest surrounding Thornton Creek in Ucluelet on Vancouver Island. It is a late salmon run as there has been no rain to fill the creeks and rivers with enough water for the salmon to enter. This male black bear is seeking salmon at the creek only to discover that the creek is very low.
